PK: D: Plasma compartment: 30%-40%, extravascular compartment-67% M: Hepatic E: Intestinal mucosa

Indications & Dose: HYPOPROTEINEMIA IV Adult 0.5-1g/kg/dose, repeat q1-2 days to replace on going losses | HYPOVOLEMIA IV Adult Initially 25g, may repeat in 15-30min if response is inadequate max 250g within 48h Child 0.5-1g/kg/dose (10-20mL/kg/dose of albumin 5%) max 6g/kg/day

Contra: Hypersensitivity, anemia, CVD

Precautions: Hepatic impairment, CRF, chronic anemia, low cardiac reserve, normal plasma albumin, hypoproteinemia, enteropathies, pancreatic insufficiency, malnutrition

ADR: Serious: CHF precipitation, hypotension, hypervolemia, pulmonary edema, decreased myocardial contractility, anaphylaxis, urticaria, Others: nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, pruritus, headache, rash

DDI: Serious Enalapril causes acute hypotension

Monitor: BP, pulmonary edema & hemotocrit
