Indications & Dose: CHOLERA PO Adult 400mg BID 3 days | EYE INFECT TP General 0.3% preparations are used | GASTROENTERITIS PO Adult 400mg BID 5 days | PROSTATITIS PO Adult 400mg BID 4-6wk | TRAVELER’S DIARRHEA Moderate-to-severe PO Adult 400mg BID 1-3 days | UNCOMPLICATED GONORRHEA PO Adult 800mg single dose | URINARY TRACT INFECT Uncomplicated PO Adult 400mg BID 3days (due to E. coli/K. pneumonia/P. mirabilis) or 7-10 days (for other organisms) | Complicated PO Adult 400mg BID 10-21 days

Contra: Hypersensitivity, history of tendonitis

Precautions: CNS disorders, renal impairment, cirrhosis, bradycardia, acute myocardial ischemia, children, elderly, patients with QT prolongation, pre-existing cardiac disease

ADR: Serious: QT prolongation, pancreatitis, arrhythmias, seizures, pseudomembranous colitis, SJS, anaphylaxis, hepatitis, hypoglycemia, leukopenia, tremors, Others: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, asthenia, insomnia, confusion, acute psychoses, hallucinations, burning & discomfort, corneal deposits, photophobia, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, interstitial cystitis, hyperglycemia, tendon rupture, hyperhidrosis, photosensitivity, phototoxicity, altered taste, hypersensitivity reactions

DDI: Serious Pyridostigmine leads to aggravation of myasthenic symptoms, Glibenclamide leads to severe hypoglycemia, Probenecid levels increases and decreases its urinary excretion, Theophylline levels rises, Calcium compounds reduces drug levels

Diet: 1h before/2h after food

Monitor: Vital signs and cardiovascular status, renal function
