Indications & Dose: MUSCLE SPASM ASSOCIATED WITH MUSCULOSKELETAL CONDITIONS Symptomatic therapy PO Adult Cap(ER): 15mg/day, max 30mg/day. Tab (IR): 5mg TID, may increase up to 10mg TID Child >15 yrs: Tab (IR): 5mg TID, may increase up to 10mg TID Elderly Tab (IR): 5mg, titrate slowly & consider less frequent dosing |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, during/within 14 days of MAOIs, moderate to severe hepatic impairment, CHF, hyperthyroidism, acute recovery phase of MI, heart block/conduction disturbances, arrhythmias
Precautions: elderly, hepatic impairment ADR: Serious: blurred vision, pharyngitis, URTI, Others: drowsiness, dizziness, xerostomia, fatigue, headache, confusion, decreased mental acuity, irritability, nervousness, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, acid regurgitation, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, unpleasant taste, weakness DDI: Others Fluoxetine and droperidol together causes torsade de pointes & ventricular fibrillation, Methotrimeprazine/CYP1A2 Inhibitors increases Cyclobenzaprine effects, CNS Depressants/Alcohol/MAOIs levels are increase Monitor: Signs/symptoms of serotonin syndrome |
