Indications & Dose: CNS STIMULANT Mild PO Adult 50-100mg, upto 200mg. Not be taken more often than q3hrs | NEONATAL APNEA OF PREMATURITY IV/PO Child Loading dose: 10-20mg/kg as citrate, followed by MD 5mg/kg/day |
Contra: Hypersensitivity
Precautions: history of peptic ulcer/GERD, impaired renal/hepatic function, seizures, CVD, symptomatic cardiac arrhythmias, anxiety ADR: Serious: increased IOP, angina, arrhythmia, sinus tachycardia, Others: agitation, delirium, dizziness, hallucinations, headache, insomnia, irritability, urticaria, gastritis, diuresis DDI: Others Paracetamol bioavailability either increases/decreases, Phenobarbital effects are diminishes/abolishes, CYP1A2 Inhibitors/Atomoxetine increases caffeine levels, Stiripentol inhibits caffeine metabolism, Sympathomimetics levels increases, Levodopa rate of absorption increases |
