Indications & Dose: MANAGEMENT OF BEHAVIOURAL DISORDERS/DYSKINESIA PO Adult 200-400mg/day |
Contra: Pre-existing CNS depression/coma, bone-marrow suppression, pheochromocytoma, prolactin-dependent tumours
Precautions: Liver/kidney/cardiovascular/cerebrovascular/respiratory impaired function, angle-closure glaucoma, history of jaundice, parkinsonism, DM, hypothyroidism, myasthenia gravis, paralytic ileus, prostatic hyperplasia, urinary retention, history of seizures, elderly/debilitated patients ADR: Serious: blurred vision, mydriasis, miosis, tachycardia, ECG changes, cardiac arrhythmias, convulsions, hypotension, EEG changes, nasal congestion, minor abnormalities in LFTs, inhibition of ejaculation, impotence, priapism, hypersensitivity reactions, nasal congestion, jaundice, SLE, hemolytic anemia, aplastic anemia, thrombocytopenic purpura, eosinophilia, fatal agranulocytosis, tardive dyskinesia, NMS, amenorrhoea, galactorrhoea, gynecomastia, Others: Dry mouth, constipation, difficulty with micturition, delirium, agitation, catatonic-like states, insomnia/drowsiness, nightmares, depression, urticaria, exfoliative dermatitis, erythema multiforme, hypo- or hyperthermia, pain & irritation at inj site DDI: Others Clonazepam causes NMS |
