Indications & Dose: SUSCEPTIBLE INFECT PO Adult 100-300mg/day in 1-2 divided doses |
Contra: Hypersensitivity
Precautions: CNS disorders, myasthenia gravis, uncorrected electrolyte disturbances, MRSA infections, bradycardia, drugs prolong QT interval, G6PD deficiency ADR: Serious: phototoxicity, epidermal necrolysis, SJS, vasculitis, anaphylaxis, pancreatitis, leucopenia, thrombocytopenia, thrombophlebitis, convulsions, intracranial HTN, myalgia, Others: headache, dizziness, confusion, insomnia, diarrhea, abdominal pain, vomiting, pruritus DDI: Serious Quinidine/Amiodarone causes Torsade de pointes, Loop diuretics/Corticosteroids increases risk of Torsade de pointes, Antihistamines prolongs QT interval, Sucralfate reduces drug absorption, Antacids reduces drug level |
