Indications & Dose: ECTOPIC OSSIFICATION PO Adult Prophylactic/treatment: Hip replacement: 20mg/kg/day 1 month before & 3 months after operation, ectopic ossification due to spinal cord injury: 20mg/kg/day 2 wk followed by 10mg/kg/day 10 wk | HYPERCALCEMIA OF MALIGNANCY IV Adult Inf: 7.5mg/kg/day 3 successive days & continues up to 7 days if needed, MD 20mg/kg/day 30days, max 90 daysDiluted in 250mL of Nacl 0.9% infused over 2h | OSTEOPOROSIS PO Adult 400mg/day 14 days followed by 500mg of elemental calcium 76 days & treatment continues up to 3-7 yrPrevention of bone loss in postmenopausal women & corticosteroid induced osteoporosis | PAGET’S DISEASE PO Adult Initially 5mg/kg/day for not more than 6 months, max 20mg/kg/day |
