Indications & Dose: GASTRITIS Chronic PO Adult 1g QID or 2g BID 4-8 wk, if necessary increase max 8g/day | GASTROINTESTINAL HEMORRHAGE PO Adult 1g 6 times/day, max 8g/dayCaused by stress ulceration | PEPTIC ULCER PO Adult 1g QID or 2g BID 4-8 wk, if necessary increase to max 8g/day, MD 1g BID to prevent recurrence of duodenal ulcers Child 1 month-2 yr: 250mg 4-6times/day, 2-12 yr: 500mg 4-6 times/day, 12-18 yr: 1g 4-6 times/day | STRESS ULCERATION Prophylactic therapy PO Child 1 month-2 yr: 250mg 4-6times/day, 2-12 yr: 500mg 4-6times/day, 12-18 yr: 1g 4-6times/day |
Precautions: Renal impairment
ADR: Others: constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, flatulence, gastric discomfort, dry mouth, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, vertigo, back pain, skin rashes, hypersensitivity reactions DDI: Serious Ketoconazole/Amitriptyline/Tetracycline/Theophylline absorption is reduced, Quinidine/Digoxin blood levels & efficacy is reduced Diet: Without food Monitor: CBC, LFTs, bone growth, neurologic status |
