Indications & Dose: BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA PO Adult 2.5mg TID, may increase to 10mg/day if needed, Modified-release dose of 10mg OD after a meal Elderly 2.5mg BID | URINARY RETENTION Acute PO Elderly > 65 Yr: Modified-release preparation of 10mg/day 3-4daysAssociated with BPH |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, concurrent use with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors
Precautions: Orthostatic hypotension, syncope, renal/hepatic impairment ADR: Serious: angioedema, Postural hypotension, Others: syncope, dizziness, fatigue, headache, abdominal pain, constipation, dyspepsia, nausea, bronchitis, pharyngitis, sinusitis, diarrhea, edema, pruritus, rhinitis, rash DDI: Serious Diuretics additive hypotensive effect, Diltiazem can raise the levels of both drugs, GA cause profound hypotension, β-blockers causes first-dose hypotension, ACEIs developing risk of postural hypotension after the first dose of the drug, Ketoconazole/Itraconazole/Ritonavir increases drug level Diet: With food Monitor: Urine flow & BP |
