TIMOLOL + LATANOPROST |
ß-BLOCKER;PROSTAGLANDIN | ANTI-GLAUCOMA |
Indications & Dose: INTRA-OCULAR PRESSURE TP Adult Timolol (0.5%) plus Latanoprost (0.005%): Instill 1 drop into affected eye(s) OD in patients with open-angle glaucoma & ocular HTN |
Contra: hypersensitivity, COPD, history of bronchial asthma, sinus bradycardia, 2nd/3rd degree AV block, cardiogenic shock, cardiac failure, other beta blockers, sinus node dysfunction, metabolic acidosis, Prinzmetal’s angina
Precautions: avoid abrupt withdrawal, history of severe anaphylaxis to allergens, DM, Myasthenia gravis, HF, pheochromocytoma ADR: Serious: vision abnormalities, sinusitis, bronchitis, cataract, conjuctivitis, hypercholesterolemia, HTN, chest pain, increased iris pigmentation, URTI, arthritis, retinal disorder, eyelid edema, Others: dizziness, dyspepsia, dyspnea, eyelash alterations, ocular irritation, skin rashes, headache, depression, flu like symptoms, infections DDI: Serious NSAIDs/Barbiturates decreases drug efficacy, β-blockers effects are increased, MAOIs/CCBs Increases drug efficacy, Theophylline levels are reduced Monitor: IOP, iris colour changes, eyelash changes, systemic effects of beta blockade |
