Indications & Dose: NEUROGENIC BLADDER PO Adult 5mg BID/TID up to 5mg QID max; ER: Initially 5-10mg OD, adjust dose in 5mg increments at weekly intervals, max 30mg/day Child 2-5 yr: 1.25-2.5mg BID/TID, 5-12 yr: 2.5-3mg BID, increased to 5mg BID/TID, 12-18 yr: 5mg BID/TID max QID if needed Elderly 2.5mg BID/TID, increased to 5mg BID/TID as needed | TP Adult Gel: Apply contents of 1 sachet (100mg/g) OD, Transdermal: Apply one patch (3.9mg/day ) twice weekly | NOCTURNAL ENURESIS ASSOCIATED WITH OVER ACTIVE BLADDER PO Child 5-18 yr: 2.5-3mg BID increased to 5mg BID/TID (last dose before bedtime) |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, gastric retention, porphyria
Precautions: CVD, hyperthyroidism, GI disease, elderly, children, patients with dementia, hiatal hernia, renal/hepatic impairment, prostatic hyperplasia ADR: Serious: Palpitations, hypotension, tachycardia, blurred vision, mydriasis, cycloplegia, increased IOP, vision changes, Others: dizziness, drowsiness, hallucinations, insomnia, weakness, anxiety, restlessness, headache, photophobia, nausea, vomiting, constipation, dry mouth, urinary hesitancy, suppressed lactation, hyperthermia, allergic reactions, urticaria, fever, hot flashes, erythema, xerostomia, dysuria DDI: Serious Levodopa efficacy decreases, Fluconazole/Erythromycin increase the exposure of drug, Ketoconazole/Itraconazole increase the exposure to drug, Digoxin levels increases, Carbamazepine toxicity raises Diet: With/without food Monitor: Incontinence episodes, postvoid residual |
