Indications & Dose: BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA PO Adult IR: 4-8mg/day, max 8mg/day; ER: 4mg OD, titrate based on response & tolerability q3-4 wk, max 8mg/day | HYPERTENSION PO Adult 1mg OD, may be increases to 2mg, thereafter titrate upwards, max 16mg/day. If therapy is discontinued for several days, restart at 1mg & titrate as before |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, HF
Precautions: Renal/hepatic impairment, angina, increased GI obstruction, elderly ADR: Serious: Arrhythmias, orthostatic hypotension, hypotension, edema, palpitation, syncope, flushing, conjunctivitis, blurred vision, arthritis, myalgia, gout, Others: Dizziness, vertigo, headache, depression, drowsiness, fatigue, nervousness, weakness, rhinitis, pharyngitis, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, flatulence, dry mouth, decreased libido, sexual dysfunction, dyspnea DDI: Serious Diuretics/ACEIs results in an additive hypotensive effect, Tadalafil/Sildenafil/Vardenafil results in postural hypotension Diet: With food Monitor: BP, standing & sitting/supine, syncope |
