Indications & Dose: ANGINA PO Adult Initially 5mg/day, increase to 10mg/day, if needed | HYPERTENSION PO Adult Initially 2.5-10mg OD, increase by 5mg at 2-wk intervals as needed max 20mg/day Elderly Initially 2.5mg OD & titrate to response |
Contra: Hypersensitivity
Precautions: Severe aortic stenosis, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, hepatic/renal impairment, HF, elderly ADR: Serious: Arrhythmias, MI, AV block, palpitations, hypotension, tachycardia, peripheral edema, Others: Headache, drowsiness, dizziness, anxiety, diarrhea, gingival hyperplasia, facial edema, pharyngitis DDI: Serious Phenytoin decreases drug levels, Alcohol increases drug bioavailability, Cimetidine/Ciclosporin/Erythromycin/Ranitidine increases drug levels, Digoxin levels increases by drug, Phenobarbital reduces the drug levels and/or increases the clearance Diet: Without food Monitor: ECG & vital signs |
