Indications & Dose: ACUTE ISCHEMIC STROKE PO Adult 120mg/day in divided doses for 21-28 days | MIGRAINE PO Adult 120mg/day in divided doses | SUBARACHNOID HEMORRHAGE PO Adult 60mg q4h given within 4 days of onset of hemorrhage, continue for 21 days |
Contra: Hypersensitivity
Precautions: Hepatic impairment, hypotension, elderly, children, Idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis, cerebral edema, severely raised intracranial pressure ADR: Serious: Hypotension, peripheral edema, ECG abnormalities, Others: Headache, depression, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal discomfort, muscle cramps, dyspnea, acne, flushing, rash DDI: Serious Carbamazepine decreases drug levels, Delavirdine/Cimetidine/Fluoxetine increases drug levels, Other Calcium-channel blockers increases hypotensive effect, Isoflurane/Halothane leads to additive hypotensive effects, Phenobarbital reduces drug levels and/or increases its clearance Monitor: BP & cardiac status, rash, hypotension, constipation, and peripheral edema |
