Indications & Dose: DIABETIC NEPHROPATHY PO Adult Initially 50mg OD in type 2 DM | HYPERTENSION PO Adult 50mg/day, may be administered OD/BID max 25-100mg/day Child 6-16 yr: 0.7mg/kg/day max 50mg/day | HYPERTENSIVE NEPHROPATHY PO Adult Initially 50mg OD may be increased to 100mg OD based on BP response | STROKE PO Adult 50mg/day, max 100mg/day in hypertensive patients with LVH |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, potassium- sparing diuretics
Precautions: Renal/hepatic impairment, obstructive biliary disorders, HF, renal artery stenosis ADR: Serious: Impaired renal function, rhabdomyolysis, myalgia, arthralgia, hyperkalemia, angioedema, hypersensitivity reactions, sinus disorders, Others: Dizziness, insomnia, headache, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dyspepsia, muscle cramps DDI: Serious Indomethacin attenuate the drug antihypertensive efficacy, Fluconazole increases drug AUC & levels, Phenytoin/Fluorouracil/Tamoxifen inhibits drug metabolism, Lithium toxicity raises Diet: With/without food Monitor: Supine BP, electrolytes, Secr, BUN, urinalysis, symptomatic hypotension & tachycardia, CBC |
