Indications & Dose: HYPERLIPIDEMIA PO Adult 200mg TID, dose may increased gradually over 5-7 days, MD 200mg BID, Modified-release tablet: 400mg/day as single dose Child 10–18 yr: 200mg OD, max 200mg TID |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, photoallergic/phototoxic reactions to fibrates, primary biliary cirrhosis, hepatic impairment, renal impairment (SeCr >1.5mg/dL, Clcr <60mL/min), pre-existing gallbladder disease, concomitant use with HMG CoA reductase inhibitors, type I hyperlipoproteinemia
Precautions: hypoalbuminemia/nephrotic syndrome, history of jaundice/hepatic disorder ADR: Serious: ARF, SJS, TEN, rhabdomyolysis, pancytopenia, decrease platelets count, thrombocytopenia purpura, Others: Gastric discomfort, headache, dizziness, vertigo, fatigue, skin rashes, pruritus, photosensitivity, alopecia, impotence, GI disturbances, anorexia, nausea DDI: Serious Coumarins effects increases, Nifedipine leads to rhabdomyolysis, Colestyramine reduce drug absorption Diet: After food Monitor: Lipid profile, LFT, CBC |
