Indications & Dose: ANGIOPLASTY IV Adult Initially 180µg/kg immediately before the procedure followed by 2µg/kg/min as inf. Second dose 180µg/kg is given 10min after the first dose. Continue inf up to 18-24h or till discharged | UNSTABLE ANGINA IV Adult Initially 180µg/kg (given as inj) followed by 2µg/kg/min by inf 3 days. If PCI is performed during eptifibatide therapy, continue inf for 18-24h after the procedure, max duration of therapy 96h |
| Contra: Hypersensitivity, history of bleeding diathesis, history of hemorrhagic stroke/history of stroke within 30 days, severe HTN, active abnormal bleeding, cerebrovascular disorders
Precautions: Platelet counts <100, 000/mm3, renal impairment, vasculitis, hemorrhagic retinopathy, acute pericarditis, aortic dissection ADR: Serious: Bleeding, hypotension, thrombocytopenia, anaphylaxis, intracranial hemorrhage Monitor: Coagulation parameters, signs & symptoms of excessive bleeding,hematocrit and hemoglobin, platelet count, SeCr, PT, activated clotting time |
