Indications & Dose: PREVENTION OF ACUTE & DELAYED NAUSEA/VOMITING ASSOCIATED WITH HIGHLY EMETOGENIC/MODERATELY EMETOGENIC CANCER CHEMOTHERAPY PO Adult 125mg with a corticosteroid and a 5-HT3 antagonist | PREVENTION OF POSTOPERATIVE NAUSEA/VOMITING PO Adult 40mg as a single dose, may be given within 3 hrs before induction of anesthesia |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, concurrent use with cisapride/pimozide/terfenadine/astemizole
Precautions: severe hepatic impairment, agents metabolised with CYP3A4 ADR: Serious: Arthralgia, myalgia, bradycardia, hyperglycaemia, disorientation, euphoria, anxiety, photosensitivity, skin disorders, anemia, febrile neutropenia, increases alanine aminotransferase or aspartate aminotransferase, hypertension/hypotension, hyponatremia, hypokalemia, insomnia, miosis, reduced visual acuity, stevens-Johnson syndrome, angioedema, conjunctivitis, Others: weight changes, sensory disturbances, throat irritation, sneezing, abnormal bowel sounds, acid reflux, perforating duodenal ulcer, dyspnea, cough, wheezing, hyperhidrosis, pharyngitis, respiratory-tract infections, urinary- tract infections, candidiasis, Headache, constipation, diarrhea, dyspepsia, anorexia, fatigue, hiccups, eructation, dizziness, abdominal pain, edema, tinnitus, flushing, epigastric discomfort, dysgeusia, dry mouth, stomatitis, thirst, polyuria, dysuria, hematuria, urinary frequency DDI: Others Diltiazem and apprepitant levels are increased, Ketoconazole increases aprepitant levels, Midazolam levels increases, Warfarin/Tolbutamide plasma levels reduces, Rifampicin/Phenytoin reduces aprepitant levels and its efficacy Diet: With/without food |
