Contra: Hypersensitivity, milk protein, carnitine deficiency
Precautions: Penicillin-sensitive patients, history of allergy, false positive Coombs’ test, false-positive reactions for glucose using copper-reduction reactions, false Jaffé method of measuring creatinine level, renal impairment ADR: Serious: Blood disorders, hypersensitivity reactions, anaphylaxis, bleeding complications, hypoprothrombinemia, platelet dysfunction, nephrotoxicity, acute interstitial nephritis, hepatitis, transient increases in liver enzyme values, cholestatic jaundice, convulsions, CNS toxicity, overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms, thrombophlebitis, Others: Skin rashes, urticaria, eosinophilia, fever, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, pain at inj site, local reactions DDI: Serious Probenecid reduces drug renal excretion Diet: With food Monitor: Renal & hematological status, signs of anaphylaxis (first dose) |
