Indications & Dose: OVULATORY INFERTILITY PO Adult 50mg/day for 5 days, starting within 5 days of onset of menstruation, preferably on 2nd day or at any time if cycles have ceased. If ovulation does not occur a second course of 100mg/day for 5 days may be used |
| Contra: Hypersensitivity, abnormal uterine bleeding, uncontrolled thyroid or adrenal dysfunction, hepatic disease, ovarian cysts, hormone dependent tumours, patients with pre-existing mental depression or thrombophlebitis
Precautions: Ovarian hyperstimulation & visual disturbances syndrome, polycystic ovarian syndrome, uterine fibroids ADR: Serious: Ovarian hyperstimulation, visual disturbances, convulsions, Others: weight gain, rash, dizziness, hair loss, Hot flushes, abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, depression, insomnia, breast tenderness, headache, intermenstrual spotting, menorrhagia, endometriosis Monitor: Basal body temperature, Serum progesterone, urinary luteinizing hormone, follicular growth & endometrial thickness, pregnancy test prior to repeat courses |
