Indications & Dose: ANGINA PECTORIS PO Adult Regular release tablet: Initially 5-20mg BID (7h interval between 2 doses). When 5mg BID dose is used, then titrate up to 10mg BID for first 2-3days. ER: Initially 30-60mg OD in the morning & titrate upward as needed, giving at least 3 days between increases, max 240mg/day as single dose Elderly Start with low dose |
| Contra: Hypersensitivity, concurrent use with PDE-5 inhibitors, severe hypotension, hypovolemia, marked anemia, HF due to obstruction, raised intracranial pressure due to head trauma/cerebral hemorrhage, angle-closure glaucoma
Precautions: Head trauma, elderly, severe renal/hepatic impairment, hypothyroidism, malnutrition, hypothermia, metalcontaining TD patches should be removed before cardioversion/diathermy ADR: Serious: Hypotension, postural hypotension, syncope, flushing, tachycardia, vomiting/restlessness/blurred vision, impairment of respiration, bradycardia, Others: contact dermatitis, local irritation & erythema, dizziness, Headache DDI: Serious Phosphodiesterase type-5 inhibitors potentiate hypotensive effects of drug Monitor: BP, HR |
