Indications & Dose: HEPATITIS WITH HBeAg NEGATIVE PO Adult 10mg OD 1 yr until HBsAg is cleared Child > 12 yr: Same as adult dose | HEPATITIS WITH HBeAg POSITIVE Chronic PO Adult 10mg OD >1 yr until HBeAg seroconversion and undetectable serum HBV DNA, continue therapy > 6 months after HBeAg seroconversion Child > 12 yr: Same as adult dose |
Contra: Hypersensitivity
Precautions: Lactic acidosis, renal/hepatic impairment, elderly, children ADR: Serious: hematuria, renal dysfunction, severe hepatomegaly, pneumonia, Others: headache, abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, rash DDI: Serious Tacrolimus/Ciclosporin enhances nephrotoxicity, Saquinavir/Delavirdine levels are reduced Diet: With/without food Monitor: HIV status, SeCr, LFTs, HBeAg & anti-HBe |
