Indications & Dose: ACUTE PSYCHOTIC EPISODES PO Adult 400-800mg in 2divided doses, may be increased to 1.2g/day | IM Adult 400mg/day |
| Contra: Pheochromocytoma, prolactin-dependent tumours
Precautions: Elderly, abrupt withdrawal, severe renal impairment, history of epilepsy/parkinson’s disease ADR: Serious: hyperprolactinemia, galactorrhea, amenorrhea, impaired fertility, gynecomastia, tardive dyskinesia, HTN, QT prolongation, torsade de pointes, NMS, Others: insomnia, constipation, drowsiness, nausea, vomiting DDI: Serious Lithium increases drug adverse effects |
