Indications & Dose: ANKYLOSING SPONDYLITIS PO Adult 200mg/day as single dose or in divided doses BID, if no response after 6 wk may increase to 400mg/day. If no response after further 6 wks then discontinue the treatment | JUVENILE IDIOPATHIC ARTHRITIS PO Child 10 kg-25 kg: 50mg BID, >25 kg: 100mg BID | OSTEOARTHRITIS PO Adult 200mg/day in 1 or 2 divided doses | PAIN/DYSMENORRHEA PO Adult Initially 400mg followed by 200mg for 1st day & there after 200mg BID | RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS PO Adult 100-200mg BID |
| Contra: Severe HF, inflammatory bowel disease, hypersensitivity, PUD, post CABG
Precautions: Hepatic/renal impairment, history of IHD, cerebrovascular disease, DM, hyperlipidaemia, dehydrated patients, HTN, elderly, children ADR: Serious: SJS, exfoliative dermatitis, TEN, anaphylaxis, angioedema, arthralgia, nasopharyngitis, rhinitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, angina, sinus bradycardia, HTN, MI, ventricular hypertrophy, palpitation, anemia, thrombocythemia, conjunctival hemorrhage, myalgia, synovitis, ovarian cyst, Others: anxiety, depression, fatigue, vertigo, nervousness, somnolence, dry skin, tendonitis, photosensitivity, alopecia, hot flashes, hyperglycemia, decreased testosterone DDI: Serious Rifampicin decreases drug level, Fluconazole increases drug level, Clopidogrel increases risk of GI bleeding, Loop diuretics leads to CHF & increases risk of hospitalisation, Lithium/Dextromethorphan level increases, Disulfiram results in encephalopathy & polyneuropathy, Phenytoin toxicity raises Diet: With/without food Monitor: CBC, occult blood loss, LFT, renal function test, BP, body weight, observe for bleeding, bruising |
