Indications & Dose: CARDIOGENIC SHOCK IV Adult 1-5µg/kg/min as inf up to 20µg/kg/min, may be increased by 1-4µg/kg/min at 10-30 min intervals until to get optimal response, max 50µg/kg/min Child 1-20µg/kg/min as inf max 50µg/kg/min, titrate to desired response | CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE Chronic/Severe Short-term therapy IV Adult 0.5-2µg/kg/min as inf gradually increase dose until urine flow increases |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, pheochromocytoma, ventricular fibrillation, severe HTN
Precautions: Hypovolemia, MI, occlusive vascular disease, atrial embolism, concurrent use of MAOI, CVD, obstructive cardiomyopathy, hyperthyroidism, DM, elderly, angle-closure glaucoma, prostate disorders ADR: Serious: hypotension, angina, ECG changes, tachycardia, vasoconstriction, mydriasis, Arrhythmias, gangrene of extremities, asthma attacks, Others: piloerection, irritation at Inj site, headache, palpitations, nausea, vomiting, azotemia, hyperglycemia, dyspnea DDI: Serious Tolazoline causes hypotension, Selegiline leads to hypertensive reaction, Vancomycin serum levels reduces following cardiac surgery Diet: Monitor: BP, ECG, HR, CVP, RAP, MAP, urine output |
