| Precautions: Renal impairment, patients receiving drugs that reduces renal function, hepatomegaly/other risk factors for liver disease
ADR: Serious: exacerbation of hepatitis, severe hepatomegaly steatosis, lactic acidosis, peripheral edema, Others: headache, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, diarrhea, dyspepsia, insomnia, somnolence, vomiting, raised liver enzyme levels DDI: Serious Ribavirin/Ganciclovir/Valganciclovir increases drug efficacy Diet: On empty stomach Monitor: HIV status, LFTs, renal function, HIV viral load, CD4 count |
