Indications & Dose: ASTHMA Inh Adult Preparation containing fluticasone (100, 200, 500µg) & salmeterol (50µg) BID, max fluticasone 500µg & salmeterol 50µg BID Child 4-11 yr: Fluticasone 100µg & salmeterol 50µg BID in patients who are inadequately controlled on inhaled corticosteroid, >12 yr: Same as adult dose | CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE Inh Adult Fluticasone 250µg & salmeterol 50µg (1 inh) BID as MD |
| Contra: Hypersensitivity, status asthmaticus, acute episode of asthma/COPD, severe hypersensitivity to milk proteins
Precautions: during drug withdrawal, refer individual drug ADR: Serious: oral candidiasis, GI infect, arrhythmia, chest pain, palpitation, syncope, tachycardia, tremor, viral skin infect, hypothyrodism, conjunctivitis, edema, hematomas, abnormal LFTs, anaphylactic reaction, Others: arthralgia, xerophthalmia, nasal irritation, weight gain, UTI, dermatitis, eczema, migraine, sleep disorder, MI, myalgia, throat irritation, bronchitis, upper respiratory tract inflammation, headache, URTI & LRTI, pharyngitis, dizziness, menstrual symptoms, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea DDI: Serious Metformin/Glibenclamide hypoglycemic effects are abolished by drug, Tobacco leads to impairs drug efficacy, Ritonavir/Itraconazole results in Cushing’s syndrome |
