Indications & Dose: BACTERIAL EXACERBATIONS OF CHRONIC BRONCHITIS Acute PO Adult 320mg OD 5 days | COMMUNITY-ACQUIRED PNEUMONIA PO Adult 320mg OD 1 wk |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, patients receiving Class Ia & Class III antiarrhythmics
Precautions: History of QTc prolongation, known or suspected CNS disorder, renal impairment, G6PD deficiency, myasthenia gravis, CVD, RA, uncorrected hypokalemia, hypomagnesemia, elderly ADR: Serious: Blood disorders, increased GGT , transaminases, CPK, peripheral neuropathy, hypoglycemia, prolong QT interval, SJS, TEN, anaphylaxis, Others: Phototoxicity, fungal/bacterial superinfect, headache, dizziness, rash, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain DDI: Serious Sucralfate reduces drug absorption, Calcium compounds/Antacids reduces drug bioavailability Diet: With/without food, milk or calcium supplements Monitor: WBC, signs & symptoms of infect, renal function |
