Indications & Dose: HYPERCALCEMIA OF MALIGNANCY IV Adult Inf: 2-4mg, max 6mg diluted in 500mL of Nacl 0.9% or glucose 5% & given over 2h | POSTMENOPAUSAL OSTEOPOROSIS PO Adult 150mg once monthly on same date each month, alternatively 2.5mg/day | PREVENTION OF SKELETAL EVENTS IV Adult Inf: 6mg diluted in 100ml of Nacl 0.9% or glucose 5% & given over 15 min repeat q3-4 wkIn patients with breast cancer & bone metastases |
| Contra: Hypersensitivity, hypocalcemia, esophagus abnormalities
Precautions: Renal impairment, history of severe bone/muscle pain ADR: Serious: HTN, hypercholesterolemia, nasopharyngitis, URTI, bronchitis, osteoarthritis, myalgia, arthralgia, decreases liver enzymes, Others: dyspepsia, headache, dizziness, insomnia, abdominal pain, rash, constipation, vomiting, UTI DDI: Serious NSAIDs leads to GI irritation Diet: With water(180-240ml) Monitor: BMD, Body weight & height, serum Ca |
