Indications & Dose: EDEMA IN HEART FAILURE/NEPHROTIC SYNDROME PO Adult 2.5-5mg/day | HYPERTENSION Mild-to-moderate PO Adult 1.25mg in morning, increase by 1.25-2.5mg to 5mg/day. Reduce dose if no response & add another drug |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, anuria, renal decompensation, severe hepatic impairment, Addison’s disease, pre-existing hypercalcemia
Precautions: DM, gout, renal/hepatic impairment, hypercalcemia, hypercholesterolemia, hypokalemia, parathyroid disease, SLE, existing fluid & electrolyte disturbances, elder, severe HF who are very edematous ADR: Serious: Arrhythmias, hypochloremic alkalosis, necrotizing vasculitis, premature ventricular contractions, blurred vision, decreased electrolyte, muscle cramps & spasms, orthostatic hypotension, Others: palpitations, rash, weight loss, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, epigastric distress, abdominal pain/cramps, dry mouth, anorexia, nocturia/polyuria/glycosuria, erectile dysfunction, gout, hyperglycemia, dizziness, light-headedness, restlessness, insomnia, lethargy, fatigue, drowsiness, asthenia, depression, anxiety, nervousness, paresthesia DDI: Serious Lithium toxicity occurs Diet: With food Monitor: BP(both standing & sitting/supine), serum electrolytes, renal function, weight, fluid intake & output |
