Indications & Dose: MIGRAINE Acute PO Adult 2.5mg, if symptoms recur, second dose after 4h interval, max 5mg/dayDiscontinue if ineffective after first dose |
| Contra: Hypersensitivity, hemiplegic/basilar headaches, severe renal/cardiovascular/hepatic impairment, history of cerebrovascular/ peripheral vascular conditions, ischemic bowel disease, uncontrolled hypertension, use of ergot-type drugs (such as dihydroergotamine) and other 5-HT1 agonists within 24 hours, MAOIs use within past 14 days
Precautions: mild to moderate renal/hepatic impairment, cardiovascular risk factors, elderly, children ADR: Serious: coronary artery vasospasm, MI, ventricular fibrillation/tachycardia DDI: Others Sibutramine increases naratriptan levels, Serotonin modulators/Ergot derivatives levels increases |
