Indications & Dose: PARKINSON’S DISEASE PO Adult Initially 150mg/day in divided doses, increase by 50mg q2 or 3 days according to response MD 150-300mg/day max 400mg/day | SKELETAL MUSCLE SPASM PO Adult 100mg BID | IV/IM Adult 60mg BID |
| Contra: History of prostatic enlargement, paralytic ileus, pyloric stenosis, glaucoma, cardiospasm, myasthenia gravis
Precautions: children, elderly, history of drug abuse, alcoholics ADR: Serious: transient bradycardia, tachycardia, palpitations, arrhythmias, hypersensitivity, Others: anaphylactic reaction, dryness of mouth, difficulty in swallowing & talking, reduced bronchial secretions, mydriasis, photophobia, difficulty in micturition, reduction in tone & motility, constipation, restlessness, confusion, excitement, hallucinations, delirium DDI: Serious Venlafaxine causes acute cutaneous reaction, Dextropropoxyphene causes mental confusion, anxiety & tremors, Chlorpromazine level & its effects reduces, Levodopa level reduces |
