Indications & Dose: PARKINSON’S DISEASE PO Adult Initially 0.375mg/day in 3 divided doses, may be increases q5-7 days gradually, max 1.5-4.5mg/day | RESTLESS LEGS SYNDROME PO Adult Initially 125µg/day as single dose 2-3h before bedtime, may be increased to 250µg/day after 4-7 days, followed by 250µg/day q4-7days max 750µg/day |
Contra: hypersensitivity
Precautions: renal impairment, pre-existing dyskinesias, risk of HTN, CNS depressants, impulse control disorders, retroperitoneal fibrosis, elderly ADR: Serious: postural hypotension, arthritis, myasthenia, rhinitis, pneumonia, tremor, libido decreased, retroperitoneal fibrosis, pulmonary infiltrates, pleural thickening, muscle twitching, vision abnormalities, Others: confusion, dystonia, hypesthesia, akathisia, malaise, delusions, amnesia, myoclonus, anorexia, back pain, dyspepsia, dysphagia, salivary hypersecretion, urinary frequency, gait abnormalities DDI: Serious Cimetidine/Amantadine/Probenecid reduces drug clearance Diet: With/without food Monitor: Vital signs, body weight, CNS depression |
