Indications & Dose: MULTIDRUG-RESISTANT TUBERCULOSIS Second-line therapy PO Adult 15-20mg/kg/day, max 1g/day Child 15-20mg/kg/day in 2-3 divided doses, max 1g/day |
| Contra: Severe hepatic impairment, porphyria
Precautions: Depression/other psychiatric illness, DM ADR: Serious: Hypersensitivity reactions, peripheral & optic neuropathy, hepatitis, hypoglycemia, hypothyroidism, blurred vision, thrombocytopenia & purpura, Others: GI disturbances, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, excessive salivation, metallic taste, stomatitis, abdominal pain, depression, anxiety, psychosis, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, asthenia DDI: Serious Rifampicin increases risk of hepatotoxicity |
