Indications for Drugs ::
Psoriasis
Drug Dose ::
Adult: Topical As 0.1% oint/paste: Apply for a few hr before washing off once daily.
Contraindication ::
Acute or pustular psoriasis. Inflamed skin. Hypersensitivity.
Drug Precautions ::
Avoid use on face, skin flexures, inner thighs, upper arms and genitals. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
Drug Side Effects ::
Burning sensation and irritation esp on perilesional skin. Hair and skin discoloration.

Drug Mode of Action ::
Not fully understood Inhibits cell proliferation putatively through inhibition of DNA synthesis as well as from its strong reducing properties. Anti-psoriatic action may be partly through inactivating epidermal 12-lipoxygenase & reducing levels of endothelial cell adhesion molecules which are markedly elevated in psoriasis.
