Indications & Dose: TUBERCULOSIS PO Adult Daily therapy: 40-55 kg: 1g, 56-75 kg: 1.5g, 76-90 kg: 2g, DOT therapy: 40-55 kg: 2g twice weekly or 1.5g thrice weekly, 56-75 kg: 3g twice weekly or 2.5g thrice weekly, 76-90 kg: 4g twice weekly or 3g thrice weekly Child Daily therapy: 15-30mg/kg/day, max 2g/day, DOT therapy: 50mg/kg/dose, max 2g/dose | TUBERCULOSIS IN HIV EXPOSED/INFECTED PO Child 20-40mg/kg/dose OD, max 2g/day |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, acute gout, hepatic damage
Precautions: Porphyria, DM, alcoholics, hepatic/renal impairment, children ADR: Serious: hepatotoxicity, splenomegaly, hepatomegaly, jaundice, convulsions, acute HTN, thrombocytopenia, sideroblastic anemia, arthralgia, myalgia, angioedema, Others: pellagra, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, PUD, photosensitivity, fever, malaise, skin rashes, dysuria DDI: Serious Ciclosporin causes toxic myopathy, Probenecid/Benzbromarone efficacy reduces, Methotrexate/Alcohol increases risk of hepatotoxicity, Allopurinol induces hyperuricemia Diet: Monitor: LFT, serum uric acid, sputum culture, chest x-ray |
