Indications & Dose: IMMUNIZATION OF UNIMMUNIZED HIGH-RISK PERSONS AGAINST HEPATITIS B IM Adult 3 doses each of 1mL, with an interval of 1 month between the first & second dose and 5–11 months between second & third doses Child <15 yr: 0.5mL, >15 yr: Same as adult dose | PRIMARY IMMUNIZATION OF CHILDREN AGAINST HEPATITIS B IM Child 1 dose of 0.5mL at birth, followed by 3 doses, each of 0.5mL, at 6, 10 & 14 wk of age4-dose schedule | IM Child 1 dose of 0.5mL given between 6 wk & 15 yr of age, followed by 2 doses, each of 0.5mL given at intervals of 4 wk alternatively 1 dose of 0.5mL at birth, followed by 2 doses each of 0.5mL given at 6 & 14 wk of age3-dose schedule |
| Contra: hypersensitivity, severely immunosuppressed children
Precautions: CRF, DM, alcohol/disinfectant, neurological conditions, acute illness, chronic liver disease ADR: Serious: angioedema, visual disturbances, lymphangitis, hypotension, influenza-like symptoms, hypotension, myalgia, bronchospasm, anaphylaxis, earache, lymphadenopathy, hypersensitivity reactions, Others: dysuria, arthralgia, pain, inflammation, redness, sterile abscess, GI disturbances, fever, sleep disturbance, irritability, loss of appetite, fatigue, dizziness, paresthesia, asthenia, musculoskeletal & joint pain & inflammation, rash, urticaria, malaise, drowsiness, headache DDI: Serious Immunosuppressants reduces antibody response to vaccines |
