Indications & Dose: IMMUNIZATION AGAINST INFLUENZA IM Adult 0.5mL single dose Child 6-35 months: 0.25mL single dose; 3–9 yr: Initially 0.5mL, followed by second dose of 0.5mL after 4 wk if not previously infected or vaccinated; >9 yr: 0.5mL single dose |
| Contra: hypersensitivity, severely immunosuppressed children, malignant disease, immunosuppressive therapy, transplantation, high-dose systemic corticosteroids, hypersensitive to eggs
Precautions: acute illness, neurological conditions, alcohol/disinfectant, should give 3wks before/3months after use of immunoglobulin ADR: Serious: lymphangitis, lymphadenopathy, guillain-barre syndrome, oculorespiratory syndrome, influenza-like symptoms, henoch-schonlein purpura, bronchospasm, angioedema, anaphylaxis, hypersensitivity reactions, myalgia, arthralgia, Others: pain, inflammation, redness, sterile abscess, GI disturbances, fever, headache, irritability, loss of appetite, asthenia, fatigue, dizziness, paresthesia, drowsiness, rash, urticaria, malaise DDI: Serious Aspirin causes reye’s syndrome, Corticosteroids leads to generalised life-threatening infections, Immunosuppressants reduces antibody response to vaccines |
