Indications & Dose: PREVENTION OF ROTAVIRUS GASTROENTERITIS CAUSED BY THE SEROTYPES G1, G2, G3 AND G4 (ROTATEQ) PO Child Infants 6-32wk : A total of three dose series are given. 1st dose given between 6 and 12 weeks of age. The subsequent doses should be given at a minimum interval of 4wk between each dose | PREVENTION OF ROTAVIRUS GASTROENTERITIS CAUSED BY THE SEROTYPES G1, G3, G4 AND G9 (ROTARIX) PO Child Infants 6-24wk : A total of two 1ml doses are given. 1st dose is given at 6wk of age followed by 2nd dose which is given after > 4 wk interval of 1st dose. Dose series should be completed by 24 wk of age |
Contra: hypersensitivity to any component of the vaccine, Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Disease
Precautions: history of GI disorders, acute GI illness, chronic diarrhea, congenital abdominal disorders, intussusception ADR: Serious: intussusception, Others: pyrexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, otitis media DDI: Serious Immunosuppressants alters the rotavirus vaccine effects, Immune Globulin decreases the rotavirus vaccine effects, Hydroxy chloroquine/Azathioprine/Leflunomide/Mercaptopurine/Methotrexate increases the rotavirus vaccine effects Diet: With/without food; Before/afterbreast feeding |
