Indications & Dose: INFLUENZA A & B Inh Adult 10mg BID 5 days starts within 48h after onset of symptoms Child 10mg BID 5 days starts within 36-48h after onset of symptoms | Prophylactic therapy Inh Adult Post-exposure prophylaxis: 10mg OD 10days starts within 36h of exposure, seasonal prophylaxis: 10mg OD 28 days & treatment starts within 5days of outbreak Child >5 yr: Post-exposure prophylaxis: Same as adult dose |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, asthma/COPD
Precautions: chronic respiratory diseases ADR: Serious: hypersensitivity, oropharyngeal edema, severe skin rashes, delirium, acute bronchospasm/decline respiratory function, arrhythmia, SJS, TEN, syncope, Others: headache, GI symptoms, cough, bronchitis, fever/chills, malaise, dizziness, anorexia, myalgia DDI: Serious Influenza vaccines efficacy is reduced Monitor: Abnormal behaviour |
