Indications & Dose: GLUCOCORTICOID-INDUCED OSTEOPOROSIS IV Adult Prevention & treatment: Inf 5mg over 15 min once in a year | HYPERCALCEMIA OF MALIGNANCY IV Adult 4mg (max)as single dose, wait for 7 days before considering re-treatmentAlbumin-corrected serum calcium >12 mg/dL | METASTATIC BONE LESIONS FROM SOLID TUMORS IV Adult 4mg q3-4wk | MULTIPLE MYELOMA IV Adult 4mg q3-4wk | OSTEOPOROSIS IV Adult Prevention: Inf 5mg over 15 min q2yr, Treatment: Inf 5mg over 15 min once in a yr | PAGET’S DISEASE IV Adult Inf 5mg over 15 min; consider retreatment in case of relapse/inadequate response/in symptomatic patients |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, hypocalcemia, severe renal impairment (ClCr <30mL/min), children
Precautions: Bone metastasis with severe renal impairment, asthma, renal dysfunction, hepatic insufficiency, hypoparathyroidism history, hypercalcemia of malignancy, elderly ADR: Serious: pleural effusion, leg edema, hypotension, rigors, renal deterioration, dyspnea, cancer progression, moniliasis, chest pain, increased creatinine level, renal toxicity, neutropenia, UTI, hematological disorders, Others: myalgia, hypocalcemia, URTI, fatigue, fever, headache, dizziness, insomnia, anxiety, hypoesthesia, alopecia, dermatitis, dehydration, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, weight loss Monitor: Electrolyte levels (especially calcium), signs & symptoms of electrolyte imbalance, dyspnea, pleural effusion, BP, fluid intake & output, SeCr, ALP, BMD, CBC |
