Indications & Dose: HIV-1 INFECT PO Adult 300mg BID/600mg OD Child 3 month-16 yr: 8mg/kg BID, max 600mg/day | NON-OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE TO HIV INFECTION Combination therapy Adult 300mg BID/600mg OD with other two antiretrovirals |
| Contra: moderate-to-severe hepatic impairment, hypersensitivity, lactic acidosis, children
Precautions: impaired renal function, bone marrow suppression, risk factors for hepatic disease, elderly ADR: Serious: hypersensitivity, anaphylaxis, erythema multiforme, SJS, TEN, pancreatitis, lactic acidosis, severe hepatomegaly & steatosis, Others: GI disturbances, headache, weakness, insomnia DDI: Serious Phenytoin/Phenobarbital decreases drug concentration Diet: With/without food Monitor: CBC, LFTs, TGs, serum amylase & creatine kinase, signs & symptoms of hypersensitivity |
