Indications & Dose: ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION Adult Intracavernous: Individualize dose by careful titration, dose >60µg is not recommended | NEUROGENIC RELATED ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION Adult Intraurethral: Initially 125-250µg MD administer as needed to achieve an erection | Adult Intracavernous: Initially 1.25µg, increase by 2.5µg and then 5µg; increase further in increments 5µg until erection suitable for intercourse is achieved, not lasting >1 h, MD not more than 3 times/wk with at least 24 hrs between doses | PATENT DUCTUS ARTERIOSUS IV Child Inf: 0.05-0.1µg/kg/min, increase gradually in case of unsatisfactory response, MD 0.01-0.4µg/kg/minInfused into a large vein/ umbilical artery catheter placed at the ductal opening | VASCULOGENIC/PSYCHOGENIC/MIXED ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION Adult Intracavernous: Initially 2.5µg, increase by 2.5µg to dose of 5µg, further increase by 5-10µg until it causes an erection suitable for intercourse, not lasting >1h. If no response, second dose may be increased to 7.5µg followed by increments of 5-10µg

Precautions: History of hemorrhage, neonates, congenital heart defects

ADR: Serious: penile edema, cortical proliferation, apnea, hypotension, cardiac arrest, hypokalemia & intravascular coagulation, convulsions, Others: headache, dizziness, diarrhea, back pain, fever, sinusitis, nasal congestion, cough, penile pain & urethral burning, flushing, phlebitis

DDI: Serious α-blockers leads to hypotension

Monitor: Arterial pressure, respiratory rate, HR, temperature
