Indications & Dose: ANOVULATORY INFERTILITY IM Adult 5, 000-10, 000U as single dose, may repeat up to 3 doses (5, 000U each) within the next 9 days to prevent insufficiency of the corpus luteum | DELAYED PUBERTY ASSOCIATED WITH HYPOGONADISM IM Adult Males: 500-1500U twice weekly, dose titrated against plasma testosterone concentration | MALE INFERTILITY DUE TO HYPOGONADOTROPHIC HYPOGONADISM IM Adult 500-4000U twice or thrice weekly | PREPUBERTAL CRYPTORCHIDISM IM Adult Male: 500-4000U thrice weekly for 1-2 months after testicular descent |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, primary ovarian failure, uncontroller thyroid or adrenal dysfunction, abnormal uterine bleeding, ovarian cyst, sex hormone dependent tumors, uncontrolled organic intracranial lesion
Precautions: Renal impairment, asthma, epilepsy, migraine, CVD, precocious puberty ADR: Serious: Thromboembolic disorders, gynaecomastia, ovarian hyperstimulation, hypersensitivity reactions, premature epiphyseal closure or precocious puberty, Others: Headache, tiredness, changes in mood, depression, restlessness, edema, pain on inj Monitor: Ovulation, estradiol levels, ultrasound to assess number & size of follicles |
