Indications & Dose: ALLERGIC REACTIONS Prophylactic therapy IV Adult 2mg/day | Acute IV/IM Adult 4mg/day | Prophylactic therapy IM Child 25µg/kg/day in 2 divided doses | HAY FEVER Symptomatic therapy PO Adult 1mg BID, increase up to 6mg/day if needed Child 1–3 yr: 250–500µg BID; 3–6yr: 500µg BID; 6–12 yr: 0.5–1mg BID | URTICARIA Symptomatic therapy PO Adult 1mg BID, increase up to 6mg/day if needed Child 1–3 yr: 250–500µg BID; 3–6yr: 500µg BID; 6–12 yr: 0.5–1mg BID |
| Contra: Hypersensitivity, narrow-angle glaucoma, CVD, known/suspected prolongation of QT interval, hypokalemia/electrolyte imbalances
Precautions: Urinary retention, prostatic hyperplasia, pyloroduodenal obstruction, epilepsy, hepatic impairment ADR: Serious: hypotension, tachycardia, hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis, blurred vision, tinnitus, Others: thickening of bronchial secretions, urinary retention, palpitation, discoordination, sedation, somnolence, sleepiness, confusion, restlessness, nervousness, insomnia, irritability, fatigue, headache, increased dizziness, rash, photosensitivity, diarrhea, nausea, xerostomia, epigastric distress, vomiting, constipation, urinary frequency, difficult urination DDI: Serious Alcohol impairs co-ordination with high doses of drug Monitor: Allergic symptoms |
