Indications & Dose: CUTANEOUS STAPHYLOCOCCAL INFECT PO Adult 250mg BID, Suspension: 750 mg TID Child Up to 1 yr: 15mg/kg TID, 1-5 yr: 250mg TID, 5-12 yr: 500mg TID, >12 yr: Same as adult dose | INFECT Severe IV Adult Inf: >50 kg: 500mg TID, <50 kg: 6-7mg/kg TID Child >1 month (<50 kg): 6-7mg/kg TID, heavier children may be given similar to that of adult dose | PRIMARY/SECONDARY SKIN INFECT TP Adult Apply to affected area 3-4 times/day until favorable results are achieved. If a gauze dressing is used, frequency of application may be reduced to 1-2 times/day Child Same as adult dose | SUPERFICIAL EYE INFECT/CONJUNCTIVA TP Adult Instill 1 drop in each eye q12h 7 days Child >2 yr: Same as adult dose |

Precautions: Hepatic impairment, biliary disease/biliary obstruction, pre-existing hypocalcemia ADR: Serious: psychic disturbance, Edema, thrombophlebitis, venospasm, jaundice, blurred vision, eyelid edema, Others: transient stinging, Inj site reaction, dizziness, headache, pruritus, rash, anorexia, dyspepsia, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting DDI: Serious Simvastatin/Atorvastatin causes rhabdomyolysis, Methadone/Levomethadone clearance is affected by drug, HIV protease inhibitors increases levels of both the drugs Diet: With food Monitor: LFTs including bilirubin periodically during systemic therapy |
