Indications & Dose: SCHIZOPHRENIA PO Adult Initially 25mg TID, dose may increase according to response at intervals of 4 days to max 100mg TID Elderly Initially 25mg BID, increase max 75mg BID |
| Precautions: patients at risk of arrhythmias, angina pectoris, severe hypertension, history of gout/hyperuricaemia, should not use in patients with a family history of epilepsy, BPH, urinary retention, angleclosure glaucoma, paralytic ileus, hepatic impairment, pheochromocytoma/neuroblastoma, while driving
ADR: Serious: thrombocytopenia, hyperglycemia, hyperlipidemia, convulsions, sexual dysfunction, urinary incontinence, extrapyramidal symptoms, tardive dyskinesia, NMS, hypotension, orthostatic hypotension, tachycardia, elevated liver enzyme values, blurred vision, Others: GI disturbances, agitation, anxiety, dizziness, insomnia, somnolence, rhinitis, sweating, asthenia, headache, increased prolactin levels, weight gain DDI: Others Antihypertensives causes additive hypotensive effect, Drugs that prolong QT interval increases risk of arrhythmia, Antipsychotics increases risk of seizures, Fluoxetine/Benzodiazepines increases Zotepine levels Monitor: ECG, electrolytes |
