Indications & Dose: DEPRESSION PO Adult 20mg/day, may be increase by 20mg/day at interval of 3–4 wk, max 60mg/day Elderly 20mg/day, may be increase by 20mg/day at interval of 3–4 wk, max 40mg/day | OBSESSIVE-COMPULSIVE DISORDER PO Adult 20mg/day, may be increase in steps of 20mg/day at interval of 3–4 wk, max 60mg/day Elderly 20mg/day, may be increase in steps of 20mg/day at interval of 3–4 wk, max 40mg/day | PANIC DISORDER PO Adult Initially 10mg/day, increase gradually in steps of 10mg/day, usual dose 20–30mg/day, max 60mg/day Elderly Initially 10mg/day, increase gradually in steps of 10mg/day, usual dose 20–30mg/day, max 40mg/day |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, concomitant use with MAOI/within 2wk of discontinuing MAOI, concomitant use with pimozide
Precautions: History of epilepsy, hepatic impairment, elderly, CVD, DM, glaucoma, history of mania/bleeding disorders, renal impairment (<20mL/min) ADR: Serious: Hypersensitivity reactions, thrombocytopenia, hyponatremia, angioedema, urticaria, angioedema, anaphylaxis, convulsions, hypomania /mania, Others: nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, anorexia, arthralgia, myalgia, dry mouth, nervousness, anxiety, headache, insomnia, tremor, dizziness, asthenia, hallucinations, drowsiness, urinary retention, sweating DDI: Serious antiplatelet causes risk of bleeding, Rifampicin decreases drug level, Fluvoxamine increases drug level, Cimetidine/Bupropion increases drug levels, Amphetamine reduces psychological effects of ecstasy, Dextromethorphan results in serotonin syndrome Diet: With/without food Monitor: Mental status for depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, panic attacks |
