Indications & Dose: BACTERIAL EXACERBATIONS OF CHRONIC BRONCHITIS PO Adult 500mg BID 7 days | LOWER RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECT PO Adult 250mg TID, may increased to 500mg TID in severe conditions Child >1 month: 20mg/kg/day in divided doses TID 10 days, increased to 40mg/kg/day in divided doses TID | OTITIS MEDIA Severe PO Adult 500mg TID | Acute PO Adult 250mg TID Child >1 month: 40mg/kg/day in divided doses BID/TID | PHARYNGITIS/TONSILLITIS PO Adult 250mg TID, may increased to 500mg TID in severe conditions. ER tablet: 375mg BID 10 days Child >1 month: 20mg/kg/day in divided doses BID/TID 10 days, increased to 40mg/kg/day in divided doses TID | SECONDARY BACTERIAL INFECT OF ACUTE BRONCHITIS PO Adult 500mg BID 7 days | SKIN/SKIN STRUCTURE INFECT PO Adult 250mg TID, may increased to 500mg TID for more severe infect. Contra: Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins
Precautions: Penicillin-sensitive patients, history of allergy, renal impairment, false positive Coombs’ test, false positive urinary glucose ADR: Serious: SJS, TEN, disturbances in liver enzymes, transient hepatitis, cholestatic jaundice, reversible interstitial nephritis, blood disorders, Others: serum sickness-like reactions with rashes, hyperactivity, nervousness, sleep disturbances, hallucinations, hypertonia, dizziness, Diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, headache, pruritus, urticaria, fever, arthralgia, anaphylaxis DDI: Serious Coumarins causes over-anticoagulation Diet: With/without food Monitor: Renal & hematological status, signs of anaphylaxis (first dose) |
