Indications & Dose: HEART FAILURE PO Adult Initially 10mg/day & increase as needed, max 40mg OD over several wk usual dose 20-40mg/day | HYPERTENSION PO Adult Initially 10mg/day MD 20-40mg/day max 80mg/day Child >6 yr (>50kg): Initially 5-10mg/day max 40mg/day |
Contra: Hypersensitivity, angioedema related to previous treatment with an ACE inhibitor
Precautions: Aortic stenosis, collagen vascular disease, CVD, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, renal artery stenosis, renal impairment, before, during/immediately after major surgery ADR: Serious: Orthostatic hypotension, palpitation, Others: musculoskeletal pain, dizziness, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, transaminases increased, weakness, cough, URTI DDI: Serious Antacids reduce drug bioavailability Diet: Monitor: BP, Se Cr & K, CBC |
